A while back now I was sent some lovely luxury olive oils from a company called Adesso. They produce a luxury range of delicious dips, drizzles and marinades. They provided me with a set as a prize and a bottle for myself and I can now inform you all that the bottle is empty! The Orange and Honey Marinade created from the finest ingredients and is definitely for those with a sweeter tooth it contains one third honey carefully blended with rosemary, thyme and orange zest, to create a subtle, delicious treat for the taste buds! It makes a natural and healthy salad dressing and it goes well with other dishes besides salad. Adesso recommend it as outstanding with Excellent with; Lamb, Chicken, Duck, Vegetables, Pork and Fish. The Orange and Honey marinade is simple yet sophisticated in taste and is great in a dressing, on it's own or as a bread dipper. It is very refreshing and tastes lovely. I tried this oil as a bread dipper first, we had some friends over and dinner wasn't quite ready and I had a fresh baguette from the bakery over the road so I poured a rather large bowl full to go with the rather large baguette. Everyone agreed it tasted amazing. The orange and honey work well together and using the bread as a dipper made it so much easier to eat!
I decided to make a chicken dish to see what else this luxury oil can do!
To make my Orange and Honey Chicken Mish Mash you will need...
- 1 x chicken breast per person (diced)
- Adesso Orange and Honey Marinade
- 1 x red pepper
- 1 x large potato per person (diced)
- 1 x handful of frozen peas per person
- 1/4 lb green beans per person
- 1 x large onion
- 1 x clove of garlic (crushed)
Marinate the chicken in Adesso Orange and Honey luxury marinade for at least an hour before you begin cooking. Deep fry the potato cubes until golden brown and remove from the deep fryer and place to one side. Fry the chicken in a mixture of 1 part Adesso oil to 1 part Olive oil, I used a tablespoon of each for a meal for 4 people. Remove from the pan when cooked thoroughly. In the same pan, fry the garlic and onions until soft then add the diced red pepper to the pan and cook for about 2 minutes on a medium heat until the pepper is soft but not so soft it looses it's crunch. Add the green beans, the cooked potato and the cooked chicken and cook for another 1 minute then toss in the peas. Serve with a drizzle of Adesso Orange and Honey and a french bread stick.
The meal was delicious, the Orange and Honey marinade made the chicken taste really good and it complimented the potato cubes well which was the one thing I was slightly unsure of at the beginning! But it worked, there were 4 empty plates and M ate it all, she is still fussy with some new foods but she's finally getting there!
